    Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

    After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:ProtectedPages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

    @Daniel Case, one of the IPs that was likely being used by the same person was blocked for a year as an LTA case: [8] Would it make sense for me to share the rest of the IPs with you in case anything further needs to be done here?     Wow yeah, he's been at this for a while. I don't know if you would want to look at likely stale IPs but I could gather a list of ones I've seen fighting over the same edits for the last couple of years or so. The one Daniel blocked has been in use steadily since 2021 so he will undoubtedly return to it. I see that range was previously blocked in November 2021, and I see more block activity earlier this year. Looks like you have been dealing with them for a while as well Barry.     I doubt a trawl for the IPs he's used in the past would be of much use. His M.O. is to abandon IP ranges when they're blocked and move to others.

    Reason: I am making this request in a preventative context. There have been no real issues on Wikipedia EN thus far. One recent IP edit should be presumed to be in good faith. But externally there are small examples of Delap being drawn into wider culture wars. Delap is more vulnerable than most, being 87 years old, female, and a Quaker. And the Just Stop Oil climate activist group is clearly a controversial organization.     • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page, click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page," which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.

    Gaza_genocide

    "Israeli soldiers have summarily executed Palestinian civilians, often in front of their families." This is one citation that leads to another citation (why not list the original reference?) where it describes a single alleged incident that has been disputed. The original citation is careful to use the term 'alleged' and 'still under verification' and yet the wiki page does not say 'alleged' or 'accused of' - and goes on to add the word 'often', even though only one alleged incident is referenced. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 169.230.248.39 (talk) 02:19, 28 March 2025 (UTC)[reply]
